I'm Finally Updating my Blog!

I woke up this morning to a running toilet.

I found the flapper in the tank had rotted off. So I went to the Home Depot to get parts.

I started to dismantle the broken part out of the toilet tank.

The Rubber Part is completely broken away from this part

And here is the rubber flapper. It really made my hands black.

I pulled out the new part.

The new one is much cleaner.. for now.

The fully assembled tank works like a charm.. then I found the instructions.. I did it right.

Tragically Hip Concert

I just got home from the Tragically Hip concert at the A.C.C..

Buck 65 and Scratch Bastard opened up for them.

The acoustics in the A.C.C. kind of suck. But it was a solid three and a half hours.

They mixed the classic stuff up with the new album.. which is good since I've barely listened to World Container.

I'd have taken pictures.. but I left my camera at home.

It also turns out the indoor smoking ban does not pertain to pot.

Well I've been slacking at the blogging.

I got the confirmation emails today that some of the C.D.s ordered last week have come in.
Including Peaches which I ordered last November.
Next week I'll have to pick them up.

Today Melissa and I went to Scarb Town Center to blow the HMV Gift Certificates Tom gave us for Christmas.
I ended up with:

And The Harry Potter DVD Box set.

I had picked up the Weakerthans.. but it turned out I ordered that from DejaVu last week.

I also picked up a marshmallow blaster. Sean and Melissa gave me the marshmallow shooter for Christmas. The blaster is more like a shot gun. There's going to be a lot of angry sticky people around the trailer park this year...lol

It's been awhile since I've entered a blog entry.

I did the Christmas thing. Melissa gave mom a Hippopotamus for Christmas. Like the song on her old 73lp.

We went to Melissa's on New Years Eve.

Jean played us some songs on the Gee-tar. He was very energetic.

It may have been the 6 liters of cream soda he drank.

Jack came after Dialysis.

The following day mom cooked a turkey. Aunt Elsie came and we had a late night considering how late we stayed up on New Years Eve.

Around 1:30 am I got a call from Uncle Paul.

It turns out a young guy hit some black Ice and drove into Nana's house. Luckily she was visiting us and not at home.

Today I received a Galaxy 500 CD from CBC.. I guess I won another CD.

I know I entered the contest, but I didn't hear my name on the radio this time.

After a tough day of Christmas shopping I picked up my sister to go out for Chinese Food.

Sean met us at the Ming Du Buffett. We gorged ourselves on noodles and chicken wings and MSG.

Then at the end of my meal the waitress gave us our fortune cookies.

My fortune was Enjoy your own company. If you don't, who will?

Uh.. is it me or is that a bit insulting?

Then I fell asleep on Melissas couch, and turned her sock monkeys tail into a penis..

I'm good company.

It's beginning to get a bit cold out. I think that's why I've not been out.
We did the holiday dinner at work last week. No one died yet.. so the food was alright.
I was planning on getting my Christmas shopping done this week but I did a couple other things this week instead.
Yesterday I revived the Pajama Wednesday tradition. I was going to get dressed but once 3 pm rolled around I figured I could lay on the couch in my pajamas with out all the work getting dressed involves.
Today I did get dressed.. I even shaved.. First time this month.
I was going to get shopping when I learned the furnace guys were coming to clean the furnace.
On the plus side I ordered Swiss Chalet for dinner. I order ed my Festive Specials with Salads and ONE side order of fries.
Well The Chalet Swiss decided to give me 4 orders of french fries for the price of one. So much potato..
One more day in this week.. how can it get any better?

Today I took Melissa to a job interview...

I got to York dale and found parking right by the doors.

I ended up wandering around York dale for about 4 hours.

The good news is I got my Christmas Shopping started.

Winter is on the way...

So as a good Son I offered to put on my mothers winter tires today.

Here's the Corrolla before winter tires...

I Had to dig the bloody things out of the garage first...

I took it over to Jacks since he bought the cordless impact gun.

THe rims had seized onto the hubs and had to be banged off.

It was an great day to work on the tires.. Jack even soaked up some sun in the driveway.

Here's the proof that I changed the tires.

Voila.. ready for the snow.

Now my mom will be safe.

The tire place opened at 8am. I got there just at 8 and I still had to line up.
I didn't get home until 11 am.

I've discovered that a computer user named Alsaleem has connected to my network.
I noticed him a couple weeks ago and I deleted his music folders.. Today I locked the router.
Unfortunatly my laptop doesn't like the encrypted router. Therefore it keeps dumping me every 30 minutes.
Hopefully Alsaleem will get his own internet connection and I can unlock my router again.

Another Season Over

Today was the final day in the camping season.
Jack and I went up to the trailer and winterized the plumbing.
Jack picked me up and drove. We were going to try the trail out of the back of the Esso.. but someone chained it off.
We went to the chocolate factory for my first and last visit this year. I got a bag of chocolate covered bananas. Meh.
Stupid short summers.. I only got out once on the kneeboard.
Next summer will be longer... If I have to quit my job and go on the welfare to do it.
It's good to have goals.. my goal is to be unemployed all summer.

I also managed to get the back lawn mowed today. But it was wet from the rain and loaded with dog shit.
I hosed off my boots afterwards.

Today I took my truck to the dealer.
It turns out I have a warranty on the truck until December.. Yay.
The check engine light had come on after I got gas at PetroCan.
Luckily it was all covered under the warranty.
While it was in I decided to replace the windshield that has been cracked in multiple locations for about 2 years now.
The Ford dealer called up Apple AutoGlass to come replace the windshield.
I took a picture.. but the windshield is so clean you can't see nothing.

Today we went to the Canadian National Exibition.

There was a little stoned drummer guy.

He had a Creepy Band.. They were all Plastered.

Sean Stared down the ostrich.. then they Wrestled.. The Ostrich won.

I wanted Sean to suck on the utter.

The most I've ever done in butter sculpting is to spread it on my toast.

This guy actually sculpted an octopus.

Last night Melissa invited Jack and I to Dinner.

Jack, Melissa, and I all ate chicken. Sean ate Fish.

This is Consuella... She is a Fish.

When you turn on the light her bowl focuses it.

It then boils Consuella into a nice fish soup...

I got to sit in the Egg Cup Chair. I felt so Yolky.

More Dead Birds

We had Wrens in the Bird house this year.

The chicks left the nest and followed the parents to their new home.

They then moved into this Birdhouse which blew to the ground and cracked open.

I rehung it in the tree but chicks started falling out. Luckily Bill stuffed them Lil' ma fuc'ers back in that birdhouses hole.

Unfortunately, the raisin bran box wasn't an ample fix and we had a casualty.

I fixed the floor with a Zip tie and duct tape. And then I cremated the little nugget.

Then we made pie irons on the fire.. yum!

The Big Move

Yesterday we moved Melissa's house.
We started with breakfast at Denny's. Ashleigh the waitress was soo Dirty. but she pulled it off.. Rrrowr. I'd let Ashleigh eat my sausage anytime.. because they are small and greasy and not the best part of the lumberjack breakfast.
It took about 11 hours to move all the crap. There are pictures to come.
I surprisingly NOT sore this morning.
Unfortunately I slept to 1pm. I'm just packing for the trailer now.
How can it thunderstorm, and be this hot all at once?. it's evil.. heh heh
I'll be back in 10 days..

Looking for Melissas Defects

Yesterday was the walk through for Melissas house.

All the defects we found were marked with BLUE tape.

We used alot of blue tape.

There were alot of blemishes on the walls, and of course they laid the wrong flooring.

The Living Room Is bright. Small, but Bright.

The doorway is perfect for fighting off intruders. A couple bowling balls on that ledge and you're set.

"Not I don't want your Watch Tower Booklet" she'll say then "Steeeeerike"

At least she has a view, until the condo tower goes up.

The Master Bedroomhas an eastern exposure. The master bathroom was found to leak when you turn on the sink.and the electrical plugs didn't work in this room. Other then that it's a nice house.

Then we went for chinese food and looked for defects in the buffet.

The Function day went pretty good.

Seven and a half hours in the club.. sitting under the pole..

I feel so dirty.. in a good way.. heh heh

No Gas for the Hungry

Last night I attempted to BBQ myself a nice thick steak. I pre-lit the BBQ and went to grab my meat.
When I got back to the BBQ I ran out of propane.
Where's Hank Hill when I need him? Dang Cartoons, so unreliable.
I then mascaraed my steak on an electric grill.. bleah
Tough and overdone.
It wasn't until after eating my burnt shoe leather steak, I realized... The Auxiliary BBQ has a tank of gas.

Yesterday I woke up early, even though I worked last night. Shawn, Melissa, and I all went to IKEA to find some gifts for Melissa's Birthday.

We walked about endlessly for hours. Arguing over which glass is better.

I like Ikea.. It's next to the nurses college and it has lots of Eye Candy..

We all stopped and splurged on the 99 cent Breakfast. Scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage and a croissant. And their coffee is good too. Not the Swedish Coffee.. Melissa had the overly strong Swedish Crap. And the Pancakes that Shawn got were like hard cookies.

Melissa picked out some crap she wanted for her birth day.. I bought it. I told her to wrap it so I can give it to her. If I get her a card I'll have her sign it for me too.. lol

I grabbed a Nice Pine Picnic Table and Bench out of the scratch and dent section. I had to strap it down on my roof. Fun stuff.

Another exciting day at Ikea, and I got a solid two hours of sleep before i had to go to work.

I ended up at Deja Vu Discs. They close the Pickering store because Quizno's Subs made a better offer on the retail space and they didn't renew the lease on time.

Mom has gotten a 2006 RAV 4 for the weekend.

It's a company car.. so I'm not allowed to take it out for a spin.

I hope she has fun filling it with groceries and stuff...

Whatever, I didn't want to drive it anyways.. I got my own truck.

Mine is already dirty and broken in.

Although the Rav has all sorts of storage and the new V6 engine. One of the reasons I bought the Escape was because the RAV4 wasn't available in a 6 cylinder at the time.

I bet it would get dirty real good if I could take it off roading.

Emergency Response

Today was the Emergency Response Team training.
Up at 5 am to go to the fire station and sit in a class room for 5 hours.
Four cups of coffee later I woke up. I know everything you don't want to know about fire suppression systems.. *yawn*
They entertained us with such brain teasers as:

Etc..Etc... there were more.. I'll spare you.
Then we went out and did the physical lessons.. Confined spaces rescue, Chemical spill clean up, fire extinguisher use, Fire Hose techniques, Bomb/Suspicious package search, and Trench rescues..
Then it was the annual Plug and Dyke competition to build the best water retention system.. Fun!
The pizza lunch was Superb for being free..
My favorite part was the drive home in rush hour. And they pay me for this.. Score!

It was a cool cool weekend, It was hard to stay warm.

Rich and Steve decided to lower the boat motor.

Even after lowering the motor they couldn't resist coming around the fire.

There was a fire burning all weekend long.

I kept my feet warm at Tanyas fire.

The cold weather and alcohol left people sleeping,

or drinking by the fire.

In some cases it's sleeping by the fire.

Or dressing in a Parka.

Either way we stayed up late.

My Meat was Large

Last Sunday on the long weekend James wanted to go to the butcher. We found one at the local IGA.

Then he had the brilliance to ask for two, one inch thick steaks.

Oh yes, these steaks were so heavy it took James TWO hands to lift it.

That steak looks like little pants.. meat pants.

Look at these beautiful bloody meat curtains.

They make people giddy.. women swooned when they saw the meat.

The Steak was thicker then a Canadian Quarter. That's like 3cm thick.

James cracked open the tray of meat and rubbed it with some seasoning. We then wrapped the Three pounds of steak in a pound of bacon to make it so delicious.

Jay built this nice new Bar-B-Que and left so we decided to break her in with our huge meat.

I know Jay fooled around with his little steaks on her but we really popped her cherry..

Look at all that bacon, The drippings the flavour the bloody steak.. Yay... it was so Exciting.

James Can't get over how much beef, and bacon there was.. Don't worry vegetarians, we sauteed up some onions, and I boiled up some mushrooms as a vegetable..

close up.. It makes me salivate just looking at it.

So Succulent, and tender.. It was also so filling..

Today's the day...
I'm off to the trailer park until Monday.
I'm definately going up.. right after I pack and go to the bank and canadian tire...
Once I finish all the things I should have done yesterday.
So I should be leaving here around.. 2, or 3 pm

REMEMBER LADIES: This will be a sausage fest weekend. So If you have no sausage please come up.. We definatly don't want a repeat of easter weekend.

A Taco Weekend would be much better.

The Resurrection of T

T was previously stabbed and bled all over my kitchen table.

Crazy Carl escaped and hid away from the authorities.

Crazy Carl hid among the sink things. He eluded the cops in his Punk Rock Shrimp hat while hiding out for the murder of T.

T was frozen until the cure for deep stab wounds was found.

T was thawed by exposing him to Gamma rays. The radiation made him glow.

Flip T over and thaw the other side. I think I smell burning turtle.

The last part of the ice to thaw was off of T's head. He really knows how to keep his cool.

A warm shower warmed him up nicely. T kept saying "No Golden Showers.. It's a stab wound not a Jelly Fish sting."

Healed.. no more stab wound.

This method of curing stab wounds has only been tested on plastic turtles. It is not approved for Humans.

T started choking on a lump of Ice so I poured boiling water down his throat. Then he took a wet bath. in warm water.. he's still a little hypothermic.

T and Carl decided to make amends. Especially since Carl's head smells like shrimp.

Turtles like to eat shrimp.

All that water made T a bit bloated. I figure an night on the drying rack will drain him alright and he'll be good to go.

This should go over well with HR who runs the FireBall event at work.

Since no one plays Charades I received the rules in an email.

There are not many rules for Charades, without using words or sounds you simply have to get someone on your team to say a name or phrase. The answers in our game have been selected so that the tips below are not necessary to play or win but they give some idea of the short cuts a team could develop and rehearse to gain an edge.

After a heated battle of gesturing wildly, our team finished Second place. We really didn't deserve to win since as the members acted out the clue they would also say the clue out loud.

We did finish first place for the best costumes. Of course we were the only team in costumes. Our prize was a t-shirt. One for everyone.

The Untimely Demise of T

Yesterday Afternoon I came in from planting grass seed. I saw a grisly scene taking place in the kitchen.. T's crazy cousin Carl came to visit.. and when he was asked what he would like for lunch Crazy Carl Said "Turtle Soup"

Lucky for Carl he didn't get blood on the Sudoku! Carl's pretty strong to stab through that turtle shell with such a dull knife.

Carl stood back for a bit to admire his handy work, and to taste T's blood..

Crazy Carl's going to get salmonella.

Carl, seeing me there, decided to show his love for his cousin.

I guess he fancied more then a bowl of turtle soup.

Today I woke up...

I came down stairs to check the mail.

As I opened the door a cute little bunny hoppedout of the garden and down the driveway.

A few minutes later I saw a bit of road kill accross the road from the school.

I got home from Work this morning...

I climb into Bed.. and the dog starts barking...

It turns out the mail man came early.

And he brought me a Box

My Box.. Addressed to ME, from Chella.

I opened it up andi initially saw garbage.

I can handle plastic bags though.

Used tampons would have been another story.. yuck.

Other treats in the box were Beef Jerky.. I mean Moose Jerky, and My paper Crane.

I names him Fraiser... as in Doctor Fraiser Crane

In the box was Moose Meat.

Chopped and formed.. they make it sound so tasty.

I sniffed the crane.. It smelled like Cabbage. Probably because it was handled by Michelle.

Look how the cops drive through the park...

When I drive through the park I get yelled at

la cops off road over the hills . Out of frame is an under cover car with another 5 guys being questioned.

The cops hassle the dealers...

These guys are respectable citizens.. according to their mothers. The cops are probably confiscating grass.

I'm told cow Manure burns grass... but it's spread out now..

poo. fun to say, fun to do.

Look at my sprouts of grass... As it gets taller I will add more dirt and seed.

The grass is too tall in areas.

I've blocked off the areas scooby runs to protect my precious grass buds.

I spread my seed like a man hoe.

I even bought a new spreader.

Please do not case all the crap in the garage.

Here is all the yard waste from last week... bags 6 through 12.

It took Melissa 6 hours to cut down the sticks and bag them as Jack and I went driving.

You suckers just read about grass...

Of course I go out and look at it's growing progress.

I won't tell you how many hundreds of dollars it costs to create this grass master piece.

But if it doesn't work I'm going to plant Moss next year.

Green and fuzzy.. grows on rocks.. perfect.

Today I shopped for food.

I got most of the food groups. meat, dairy, fruits and vegs, and grains.. right?

This will make some Fire Side nachos and garlic bread.. plate free since there's no running water.

The First Bar-B-Que of 2006

Wednesday Night was so nice out we decided to have the FIRST Bar-B-Que this year. Unless you count Hot dogs.

Look at them Steaks all Marinating in Salad Dressing..

I lit the Bar-B-Que.

The bottom grates starting tho rust out....

Nice warm flames...

I boiled some canned potatoes on the Hot side first..

I poured the rest of the marinade in the can..

Salmonella Be Damned. You got to live Life on the Edge sometimes.

I decided to use the small Bar-B-Que.. because the Big one needs new valves.

The potatoes are so flavourful.. I think it's the flavour of the can..

Add some Sauteed Mushrooms and Onions and Voila. Tasty Tasty.

Sweeping out the Dirty Hole

Today the chimey sweep came to sweep out the chimney.. duh. What else would he be there to do?

He brought his brushes and vacuum to clean out the ash and soot.

He also cleaned out some more dead birds that fell down the chimney.

I think it's just easier to light the fire and open the flu..

He then climbed up on the roof and wrapped new mesh around the chimney cap. I could have done that.

He only did that because the cap was stuck on the chimney.

Operation Old Lady

Operation Old Lady has been a success.

My Nana hosted a Surprise Party for my Moms Sixtieth Birthday.

The Whole Famn Damily showed up... Including me.

Tom came in from Ottawa. I pretended I was sleeping all day.. since I work at night. And Jack drove us up.

It was all part of a cunning plan.

Mom was Surprised too see everyone. She thought she was just going out to lunch with Melissa and Nana.

Mom Blew out all the candles she could.

Meg and Gerry handed out the cake.

Uncle Pete looks for a sippy cup to put his beer in.

Tom discovered he suffers from narcolepsy and dozed off standing in the kitchen.

All in All it was a good day.

The Boyz hung out in the basement playing X-Box,

The Uncles reminisced about making their friends crap themselves when they were in there teens, and electrocuting each other.. good times, good times.

And the best part was that mom was obviously oblivious to the whole ordeal until she walked in.

Today is the FIRST day of Spring..this year.

I've lived through other spring days and this isn't really my first.

I feel like such a "Spring day" Whore now.

On a pessimistic note.. today is the last day of winter..

Goodbye beautiful snow, crisp cool air, slippery roads and 8 hours of sunlight.

oh.. wait.. it's still -5, snowing, and I work at night..

I've been contemplating firing up the Bar-B-Que lately. Getting some big thick steaks, and potatoes. Grill up some mushrooms and saute some onions. Too bad it's been so cold. Not that I mind cooking outside in the cold. The Gaile force winds we've been experiencing lately are another story.

When it's -2 C with a windchill of -20 C.. It makes Grilled cheese sound more tasty.

At least it's warmer.

Laowai Dinner

Last night was Chinese dinner at work.

We the employees that got bonuses bought the s.o.b.s, who didn't get bonuses, dinner.

I ordered the Spicy Shanghai Chicken. It wasn't very spicy.. and it had Shrimp and Egg in it more then the promised Chicken.

It was still tasty.. and it didn't make me lock myself in the bathroom like the guys who had the chili chicken, or the manchurian chicken.

Last week I won a Blanket at work.. This Week I won...

A Thermos.

I would have got another blanket but they ran out..

I had already gotten a thermos. But this one is Blue. The one I won before is Black.

The problem is I don't use Thermos'. especially since Tim Hortons is never more then a half hour away.

I won the Thermos for fixing something simple.. no great effort was put forth on my part.

My Day at the Dealer

Wednesday night I went out.. I noticed my truck was making rubbing noised when I turned.

Rubbing noises when you turn is bad.

I woke up real early on Thursday and took my truck into the dealer. I asked the dealer to check the steering noise out and to check the transmission which was feeling a bit rough.

I got home at 10 am on thursday.. just in time for MacGuyver.

The day passed and there was no call to tell me what was wrong with my truck or how much it would cost.

I called the dealer at 6pm but unfortunatly they closed. That really sucked.. My truck was trapped at the dealer..

I called back in the morning on Friday.. they said the transmission was fixed but I probably wouldn't get it back since they just started the steering problem.. this was a problem since I needed to get to work on Friday night.

At 4pm I got a call from the dealerships coutesy shuttle. He woke me up so I told him to come get me at 430p. I had no idea what was wrong and was expecting to pay thousands of dollars in parts and labour since they had the truck for two days.

I went to the cashier. I asked what was wrong with my truck.

The Ball joints were replaced and they replaced the valves on the transmission. My transmission has valves?

I gave her my credit card, and she charged me $57 after tax..

Yay!

Thats what the deductible on my extended warrenty is.

I paid it and left happy with the low price and a smooth running truck.

I just wonder who bought me an extended warrenty.

My KM's just passed 100k, and I declined to buy the extended warrenty when I bought my truck about 4 years ago.

Don't tell Ford...
